How exactly did I become a member of a community I have never heard of? Weird.

For those of you who remmber Neil Gaiman & John Bolton's Books of Magic, starting on the 15th of May, they are being turned into a series of novels for young adults. Written by Carla Jablonski with a forward by Neil himself.

Is it me or does Harry Potter pull a lot from that series? The glasses, the hair, the owl, the learning, the potential? Strange. I've decided that Dumbledore is the Phantom Stranger, McGonagall is Dr. Occult, Hagrid is Constantine and Snape is Mr. E.

Dr. Phibes! Whoo!!

I'm truly annoyed that Wendy & Richard Pini (the creators of Elfquest) are goingto be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of their series at the San Diego Comic-con at the end of July, along with the 10th anniversary of Terry Moore's Strangers in Paradise. Again with damn inventory at work. No Chicago concert, no comic-con, no CFTC.

I embrace the randomness.

me.

Corner of the Sky

Everything has its season
Everything has its time
Show me a reason and I'll soon show you a rhyme
Cats fit on the windowsill
Children fit in the snow
Why do I feel I don't fit in anywhere I go?

Rivers belong where they can ramble
Eagles belong where they can fly
I've got to be where my spirit can run free
Got to find my corner of the sky

Every man has his daydreams
Every man has his goal
People like the way dreams have
Of sticking to the soul
Thunderclouds have their lightning
Nightingales have their song
And don't you see I want my life to be
Something more than long....

Rivers belong where they can ramble
Eagles belong where they can fly
I've got to be where my spirit can run free
Got to find my corner of the sky

So many men seem destined
To settle for something small
But I won't rest until I know I'll have it all
So don't ask where I'm going
Just listen when I'm gone
And far away you'll hear me singing
Softly to the dawn:

Rivers belong where they can ramble
Eagles belong where they can fly
I've got to be where my spirit can run free
Got to find my corner of the sky

hmmm, I'm having a friend come over today, the first since I've moved in here. Sad. Looking around Ithink I need to move things. There are piles of clean clothes, folded and everything on the futon that need to be put away, stacks of books (the ones I'm currently reading and the ones I need to start), a pile of DVDs on the floor in front ofthe TV, the pans & dishes from last nights tacos (mmmm), CDs have all been taken care of , and I still need to box up the three boxes of RPG stuff I'm giving to her. And I should probably sweep and dust real quick.

The pressure. I just realized I've been here for two years and haven't had any one over, been to others but not here. Hmmm.

And because [livejournal.com profile] sscecca01 started it and [livejournal.com profile] krabbypatty continued it, I'm putting my own spin on it.

I'm tryingtoread Witches of Eastwick. again. This is like slogging through a swamp, it's too verbose.

And I just realized something (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] krabbypatty for making me think of it) about the movie version.

Cher: professional singer
Susan Sarandon: sang in Rocky Horror Picture Show
Michelle Pfeiffer: sang in Grease 2
Jack Nicholson: was in the movie version of On A Clear Day You Can See Forever but was one of the few who didn't sing, and was in the original Little SHop of Horrors that the musical was based on, no singing there, but still...

And I'm fightened right now, I was just listening to Leonard Nimoy singing The Legend of Bilbo Baggins.
