Yeah, exciting.

I went to the birthday party of girl I work with (attendedwith others from work) and got to meet her circle of friends. made me think about what kind of conclusions people would draw if they met all of my friends at a party.

Her group of friends (keeping in mind they are ALL ten years younger than I) are damn LOUD, and drink ALOT, and (the strangest) all of the straight guys were all over each other.

Funny.

I don't remember being that loud at that age. I felt old, which hasn't happend in ages. The beer tasted off all night, no matter what kind Itried. So I didn't even get the fun of getting buzzed, which I know the girls who came with me were waiting for as they heard about what happened the last time.

And work. I keep telling myself, "one more month, one more month." It's not working. I hate this store with a passion of a thousand suns.

Still haven't found a place yet, I have been concentrating on houses as there are supposed to be four of us moving together. I think I'm just going to look for a two bedroom with L. Easier to find those in the area.

Off to bed as tomorrow is an early shift.

not really, it's sometimes more of a "I remember doing those things" type of thing. I don't think you've actually said anything that made me think that. It helps that we listen to some of the smae music.

cuz i'm a good deal younger than you, so i was kinda curious ^_^ but yeah, the taste in music (and men, hee hee ^_^) thing helps to bridge whatever age gap there is between us.

i'm so sorry i haven't replied sooner, my computer totally died and i'm on a comp at the library right now. 45 stinkin' minutes just to do e mail. i am such a slave to the internet worlsd ^_^

Isn't it strange to feel old? I find it happens at the oddest times--when I go to use a simile or a cultural reference and I realize it's from the eighties or nineties, a time I think is "recent", and get blank looks.

the worst is when I'm looking over applications and I realize that this person was born after I graduated high school.

Or mention a favortie show as a kid and the the person you're talking to is clueless.

The two most glaring examples recently: two high school girls discussing the movie "Pearl Harbor" and arguing over whether it really happened, and a girl who asked me who that was on my John Lennon T-shirt. Me: "John Lennon." Her: "Who?" Me: "From the Beatles." Her: "The who?" Me: "No, not The Who. The Beatles." Her: (blank stare). Me: (relenting) "It was a joke. The Who is another band. The Beatles were a band. You know, with instruments? They sang? THEY WERE THE MOST POPULAR MUSIC GROUP IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD?" Her: (fear)

heh. Try explaing Schoolhouse Rock to one.

"You mean you watched educational cartoons voluntarily?"

"They werew good! They helped me get through school."

"eeew!" *looks strangely at me*

"Look, The Preamble actually helped me in college, and the English stuff was fun!"

*nods and looks skeptical*

"oh never mind"

This was a conversation when one of the kids at work was curious as to why the management team was so happy when the Schoolhouse DVD came out. I fear they wouldn't understand The Muppets either.

And now we sound like our parents bashing our generation.

*sighs*

Aren't those age reminders a bummer sometimes? I had one a few days ago during volleyball practice. I was jogging across the court to shag a few loose balls when for no obvious reason, my right calf started to spasm. Muscle spasms aren't a big deal, but I would have felt better about having one if I had actually been doing something strenuous at the time. >.<

And out of curiosity, what happened the last time you got buzzed with the girls from work?

heh, I just spilled QUITE a bit about my past sexual history in order to make someone else feel better.

I believe the actual quote (which I have heard repeated MANY times) was: "you could never be as big a slut as I was at your age."

Yea!
