post-holiday post 'o DOOM
Jul. 6th, 2003 10:25 pmsorry, inside joke.
So the holiday is allll over.
Thank god.
Dead dead DEAD at work for all weekend, which I only had to be there for Friday and Sunday but still. Everyone left town it seems. Joy, got lots done. Except for the fact that the titles that are all being released on Tuesday aren't coming in until Monday afternoon. Damn holiday.
Went to a party with the kids at work. They've been wearing me down for months now as I never go out with them. Hello, I'm your supervisor, I shouldn't be doing so, the whole respect thing needs to be maintained. I caved and went to a Fourth party. Lots of drunk 20-somethings. Early 20-somethings. I was the oldest person in the house by at least eight years. Children. And the straight guys all have boundary issues. As in they don't have any it seems. They were all talking about sexing each other and groping and it was all very bizarre. One ofthe other supervisors was there so I wasn't alone with the having to maintain sobriety thing, until she didn't.
I doubt I'll be doing so again.
I really need to move.
I just realized the 25th is less than three weeks away, I really need to get on the ball. Still have to wrap things and other stuff. Hee I'm enjoying this.
I just realized, I've been immortalised in fic twice now, once I was morphed into a lesbian (who knows? It was never explained and I was only there for a sentence or two) the other time I was a DJ. Too funny, used my blue hair (at the time). OOH!! Three times. I created a villain (when I was thirteen) for the old comic book Dial H for Hero.

Date: 2003-07-06 08:19 pm (UTC)I was thirteen! Let it die, please.
It's almost as bad as going back and watching the cartoons I used to love and realizing just how notgood they are. Starblazers just does not stand the test of time.

Date: 2003-07-06 08:32 pm (UTC)And Looney Tunes will be the king of all cartoons forever, as far as I'm concerned.
Oh and classic Godzilla. Giant rubber monsters always make me smile. Sunday afternoon double-feature. Rubber monsters and badly dubed martial arts.

Date: 2003-07-06 08:47 pm (UTC)The little Anime available, the double feature, Elvira (for us West Coasters, when I was in IL it was the Son of Svengooli). Whatever happened to the creature feature? Then it was Looney Tunes, the Hanna Barbera block and then lunchtime.
I miss being young enough to enjoy Superfriends, Space Ghost, Groovie Ghoulies and Scooby Doo for what they were. And the bad martial arts movies.
Lord, but looking 35 in the face is making me maudlin, especially when my staff all were born while I was in HS.

And *blushes* I've never been called snazzy before.
Had to go double check which "me" icon I was using. That was just after I shved the blue hair off. Which was turning green, and as much as I love the color green, THAT particular shade, on my head, was not working. So off it went.
I think it's time to change the icon out. I have more hair now, it's actually getting frightening how fast it grows out. I'm looking very Einsteinish right now. Must get it trimmed, or shaved, soon.
The last of the "me" icons above. This is snarky me from my one visit to San Fran (highly overrated, to my mind) about ten years ago.
And from what I can see of yours (boy with glasses!!) is pretty nice to look at.
Must go get Tater tots from the oven now.

Date: 2003-07-06 10:00 pm (UTC)Hello, Mr. Published Author whose book is sitting over on the futon right now. The book, not you.
and I just went hunting through my old posts to lok for a very specific one (the what-I-like-in-guys post where I believe I waxed rhapsodic about boys in glasses who have talents) but can't find the damn thing. I did discover that I have slowed down immenslyon my posting and I think I have just about used up my allotment of wit.
I am now tired and must sleep and work in the morning. then come back and continue my X-Mas in July gift exchange plans. I am so a procrastinator, it sucks.
a Plain Jane of a guy
Maybe I should write a story for you, or let you read some of my work as a gift. Cept I'm not very Xmas-oriented... maybe Hanukkah?
