Jul. 3rd, 2003 12:36 amI am sitting here listening to the NEW Me First and the Gimmee Gimmees. The new one!! Take A Break. Ain't No Sunshine, I Believe I Can Fly, Mona Lisa, NOthing Compares 2 U, Natural Woman.
Hee. I am thoroughly enjoying this. Too much fun.
I am also reading a new book that finally came back in to the store. Trysts: A Triskaidecollection of Queer and Weird Stories by Steve Berman. Nice. Dark, Quirky. A couple of first paragraphs back
From Stormed and Taken in Prague
From Cries Beneath the Plaster
Dark full of the supernatural and gothicity. I should so be listening to Patrick O'Hearn's music while reading this except I think I'd freak myself out.
And, during slow times at work I perused The New Joy of Gay Sex: Updated with illustrations by Joe Phillips. Eh. The articles were nicely done, informative and entertaining. The pictures just didn't seem to be up to Mr. Phillip's normal standards. Pure porn, yes, but B/W sketches, not the clean artwork I'm used to. I really liked the artwork from the second edition.
Yes, we read porn at work. We find the stuff scattered throughout the store, usually in Kids or religion, and we check em out. Taschen puts out some damn fine stuff. Damn weird stuff, also.
Hmmm. Shall have a film festival tomorrow for Ms. Hepburn's passing. Lion In Winter, Philadelphia Story, African Queen and if I can work up the courage A Long Day's Journey Into Night (that on always takes it out of me).

Would it help to tell how haunted this city is? Walk the quiet, lonely streets and listen. Soft sighs and sobs and whispers hidden in the sound of a footfall, the drip of rain, the rustle of cloth. Each building wears a patina created of smoke and acid rain and simply too many years left standing.

Joseph dipped his hands once more nto the bucket, enjoying the sticky warmth coating his skin. Even at night the studio captured the late summer heat, and the sweat rolled down his face and bare chest to mingle with the crimson stains on his flesh.

Natural Woman. hee. That's right up there with My Boyfriend's Back. Still trying to figure out if any of them are gay or not. Their liner notes are a fantastic work of fiction each time. Very entertaining.
