Finished OotP late last night. I think I need to reread the last couple chapters again (before I do the entire book over), because I was a bit tired and probably didn't process everything that they contain.

I plan on rereading it Thursday, I'm positive I missed things near the end. But damn if I wasn't all, "oh no she's dead!" then "ooh, it's him! and "awww, I was right" and finally just "woah, didn't expect that."

And trhat whole thing with our favorite fictional blonde at the end must put a crimp in many a shippers dreams.

Have you seen Finding Nemo? You sort of sound like the surfer dude turtle here. But I digress....

I went into the battle scene convinced that Neville was going to go after Bellatrix in a quest for revenge and get AK'ed. Then I thought that Hermione was the one, and I was really mad, because I think it's a bit too early to lose one of the Trinity. And then when Sirius died, I actually felt kind of cheated, because I didn't really think his death was set up at all in the story. But maybe that was the point.

Not really -- at least not in mine. ^_~ H/D has always been about subtext anyway, reading beneath the antagonism, etc. etc. Things have gotten a little more tenuous, but heck, they were tenuous to begin with. And besides, this way, Draco can go over to the Dark Side in book 6, start to question his decision in the middle of book 7, and make a heroic return to the Good Guys at the end, when he dies to save Harry. ^_^

haven't seen it yet. Am planning a possible trip on Saturday to see it if the weather's good.

I haven't updated in a while. I'm in the middle of Chapter 6 but took a break due to lack of motivation. OotP has made me want to get working on it again, but unfortunately this whole moving thing means that my time is not necessarily my own this week. But I have hopes. Fortunately, OotP doesn't render most of what I had planned for DMGoF pointless or invalid. Yay.
