I'd heard that musicians make the bulk of their money from tours and not from recordings, but wow, I hadn't expected something that lopsided.

someone on one of my lists actually figured out (she's an accountant) how much each guy made the previous year using last years numbers. It ranged from (if I remember correctly) 2.5 to 5 mil. After you take into account the amount they would have to spend on their "people" and such. Before taxes, or course.
