Elfquest 25th Anniversary is this year. In July they are releasing (through their new partnership with DC Comics) Elfquest: 25th Anniversary Edition a 40-page one-shot that reprints the introductory story from the now clasic Elfquest #1. Newley relettered and recolored (in textured color) by Wnedy Pini herself, it features the classic cover from the inaugural issue. This is the first in what promises to be an expansive line from DC Comics which will include b&w trade paperback collections and new colored hardcover Archive editions.
It will also include a preview from the first all-new Elfquest story in years, The Searcher and the Sword which will focus on the human Shuna and a character from the Dreamtime storyline.
I can't wait. DC is also planning on releasing exclusive DC Direct merchandise. This means posters, busts, ACTION FIGURES! the DC marketing division better go into overdrive on this.
In other comic book news I am severely disappointed by Marvel's Rawhide Kid. not at all what I was expecting, a little amusing (with cameos from Hoss & Little Jo of Bonanza, Mayor bush (George W.) and Laura Ingalls), he was alittle (OK a lot) swishy but I don't think it deserved an Explicit Content label.
