Shrek
You are... Shrek - "Well I have to save my
ass!"
You walk tough and talk tough, but inside you're
just a gooey ball of mush. Your friends are
important to you (whether you admit it or not)
and you'd do just about anything for them (but
you wouldn't like it). Trust is important to
you, and so is respet. Looks don't matter to
you; it's the gooey ball of mush inside that
really counts.

I adore Elvira Kurt. Fell in love after the comedy central special where she had the audience eating out of her hand and then dropped the 'L' word. ("Wait...if you're gay...and I was laughing... does that mean...?")

That's where I saw her for the first time, then discovered she had a CD. Went and hunted it down. Damn funny, stuff not on the show.

She Margaret Cho & Eddie Izzard are my favorites. Only one I've seen live is Cho. Have three CDs of Eddie's and three of Cho's.

I'm a packrat.

Lawn darts! *nostalgic sigh* Though there was that one time when my brother decided it would be neat to see how high he could throw one, and then we both panicked when we realized how fast is was coming down on top of our heads.

And my childhood playgrounds were always black asphalt, not cement. It's not a true playground until you fall down in the middle of the summer and stick to the ground.

Heh. When Iwas a kid we had the street and a HUGE open field that had previously been used as a dumping ground for construction. So there was all SORTS of really cool (and dangerous) stuff around. i remember quite vividly faling off one of the "things" left behind and scraping myself up rather nicely. my parents were not sympathetic. "be more careful."

My brother and I used to stand back-to-back with the lawndarts, heave one straight up, then run like hell. Never hurt ourselves with it once. Unlike the moinkey bars my dad built in the backyard. i can't count how many times one of us, or friends, fell off. Don't remember any broken bones.

Kids today have it easy. Like Elvira says "our parents were trying to kill us!"

remember the spinning metalic thingie we tried to make our friends fly off of?

The spinning metallic thingie! *feels nauseous* I was always the one who got to hang on for dear life while everyone else spun him around and around, mostly because I was the lightest and everyone likes seeing me puke. Why they considered that entertaining, I don't know, but I was a slave to peer pressure back then.

My brother apparently also has fond memories of those days. He just bought a trampoline, swing set, and jungle gym for his three kids. His wife is quite nervous that their back yard now contains implements of destruction. I'm just looking forward to the next time I go visit.

*bounce* *bounce* *crash!*

yep, I discovered last year that me and my nieces on the same trampoline were a dangerous combination. I revert to their age of 10ish and start taking on dares.

Stupid stupid Lincoln.

Went home that weekend with bandaged up ankle and a sore back. I much prefer the pool they put in.
