sex and V.D.

I completely forgot to share the Valenties Day madness at the store.
Do you know just how many people take the idea of Valendtines and use it to bring sex into their lives?
A damn lot of them.
Our sex section at the store is wiped out. People came in, up until, closing looking for the Kama Sutra books, the Susan Corn books, any books on spicing up the sex life they could find.
it was quite amusing. My favorite wasthe lady, in her 60s if she was a day, looking for something on fantiasies for her and her husband. So funny. The clerk had the strangest look on her face while helping the customer. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
And then, of course, the usual allotment of emo teens coming in and being nuicances. Rearranging things, asking people for money (if we catch that, out they go), taking adult mags into the kid sdepartment (another out the door), or my favorite - taking the adult stuff into the religion section.
Why? Just stand there and look at the things. We won't say anything unless you look abviously under 18. And we don't carry anything with pictures truly XXX rated. Except for Penthouse which I'm still surprised we carry.

One term, a professor teaching a course on human sexual behavior had placed all the copies of The Joy of Sex on closed reserve, which meant that you could only check the book out for two hours, and you couldn't take it out of the library. My supervisor, upon seeing this, remarked, "Is two hours enough time? Some of those positions are really difficult to get into. Trust me, I know. And do we really want people doing this *in* the library?"

I would seriously be squicked if any of my managers said anything like that. Some of my staff members, on the other hand...Oh, some of the conversations we've had at the information desk or inthe break room. They so cross the line in our handbook.
