So the walk to work is long and cold without my discman. Neve rrealized just how long it is until I had to do it in silence. Bizarre.

Go to work, my manager is leaving in two weeks for her new store in Eugene, OR. She keeps saying she's going to kidnap me. Or send me to the new store in Kansas City. Not so sure about either one of those. Istill am leaning towards the South.

Listened to many bizarre stuff inthe stockroom today, preparing for all the Merchandising crap this weekend. the newest Stephen Lynch CD (is there something wrong with me that anytime I hear the song about his prom I think of Justin?). When Pigs Fly with Lesley Gore (!) singing DIrt Deeds Done Dirt Cheap which I can't help hearing as Bob Rivers' Dirty Deeds Done With Sheep.

Taxes done and sent. Waiting oh so eagerly for the refund.

And this wholke nostalgia thing happening recently had me trying to remember when I got into the fanfic. Honestly, I'm not sure. I used to be all "oh, real people, ick. I don't want to read about real people. Escapism, that's what Iwant." Then I guess it clickedwith methat it is escapism. This is fiction after all and I did grow to like the SDBs.

Couldn't beginto tell you when I grew to like BSB, had to have been around Millenium, though. But I can pinpoint when I grew to like NSYNC. At my last store, it was late there were me and a couple of others working and maybe 6 customers. Four of them were younger guys (19-23) who were messing around and eventually asked if I would be willing to open something upbeat for them to listen to until we closed. It was slow, I was bored I said "sure." They asked for NSA, which had recently been released, I admit it I rolled my eyes and grimaced. Did it anyway.

I liked it, it was catchy, upbeat and danceable. The rest of the staff laughed at me. Didn't buy the CD until this last year. Or any of them. Not even BSB. It's been since I moved up to NH that I started really gaining an interest.

And on the subject of "The Time Warp." have I mentionedthat I used to be in a troupe (Sins Of The Flesh) that performed Rocky Horror? I was a Transylvanian then Dr. Scott then Brad and finally (for a glorious six months) Dr. Frank himself! So fun, someone out there has pics of me in costume. I looked fierce! The closest I will ever come to doing drag! this would have been 85 to 89 I think. When I was 17 to 21. First saw it when I was 14, brought my younger brother (then 13), my parents were clueless what it was. then I brought my mother to see it for her 40th. I have never been so embarassed in my life. Only a mother. As a matter of fact this icon was taken about a year before I became Dr. Frank.
