oh the happiness
Jan. 29th, 2003 03:25 pmI got a ficlet from
powrhug! Whee! And I was all teeny and voted for JC on TRL. Online and by phone.
Been listenign to the Punk Cover CD I made, for some reason this has totally picked me up today. Loving it.
funfunfun
And cleaned up after the mess I amde yesterday. Put the comics & CDs away. Put the RPG stuff back on the shelves, and the videos back in their cases.
Except, of course, for the ones I need to reread, listen to, and watch.
And just for fun:
'cause I'm a geek that way.
The Legion of Super-Heroes a series that has been around in one form or another since 1963, five years before I was born. I have actually managed to purchase every issue except 3 in the entire forty year run. I rock my own world. Yes I'm a geek.
Castle Waiting is a series based on fairy tales and literature. Sweet, beautifuly drawn and fun to read. Linda Medley is wonderful
Elfquest, the elves, man, the elves! If Chris were really an elf (and not a hobbit), he'd be a Wolfrider, Howie would be a SUn Villager and JC would be from the Blue Mountain. Yes, still a geek.
Marvel's Ultimate line of comics. THey retell and respin the major players in their own self-contained universe. Nice take politics, war, ethics, paranoia, gay Russian former mobsters as super-heroes, and the mutant=gay theme.
the fifth one changes, but right now I would have to say it's probably the Secret Files type stuff, which is basically a stat page with an iconic drawing of the character and little plot points. They're fun and usually include hints about what will be coming up.
And Itink I've decided to make a Cole Porter mix using the various renditions of his work by current (or at least recent) artists.
I've decided to blame my attention span problems on Sesame Street and MTV. Yep, those 30 second little blurbs Sesame St does that teach kids while they still pay attention. And the 3 minute videos and sound bites from MTV. We could never let my little brother watch Sesame Street, it made him hyper. Funy towatch when a new babysitter would let him see the show. She would be so tired by the time one of the 'rents came home.

Date: 2003-01-29 01:53 pm (UTC)The Kim Criswell CD is about 10 years old, might be out of print. I have seen it go up on E-Bay and Half.com for dirt cheap, just a couple of dollars. As far as Cole Porter it has: Give Him the Oo-la-la, He's A Right Guy, Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye, The Leader of a Big-Time Band, I Love Paris and Katie Went to Haiti. It also has Gershwin, Berlin and others.
