Quick life update.

New York trip is sadly off, I just can't afford it right now. I shall see if I can swing a weekend in November. Maybe. If so it will probably be very spur of the moment, take the bus in, stay at a hostel, see The Ritz and Young Frankenstein, and take the bus out.

Demonoid seems to be permanently gone. Woe. My 0-day comics fix is now gone. Damn the CRIA. *shakes fist*

I am tempted to get into the Bandslash fandom now. Yes, stictly due to THAT. I don't particularly like the music nor so I find the guys very attractive, but I am just contrary enough to look into it now. I think this is one fandom that I feel too old for.

If all goes as it historically does, I shall fall for the Supernatural fandom any time now, third season is usually when it happens in TV fandoms for me. I give Heroes 'til the end of this season. I haven't seen a single episode of either yet.

Tiny fandom round up: The Talented Mr. Ripley: Tom/Dickie, Room With a View: both Julian/Rupert RPS and George/Freddy, The Dark is Rising series: (the books and NOT the movies) Will/Bran, and The Endless Summer RPS: Pat/Wingnut. Strangely I have noticed that in all but two of my fandoms (DiR and Comicslash) There must be real-life people to base the imagery on, I have discovered that I need that to keep the picture ofthe characters in the back of my mind - it makes it easier to believe (if you will) when that aspect is there.

First person fiction. Does anyone else have a problem with this? I can read real memoirs no problem; but novels, short stories or fictional memoirs - I can not get into them. I find that perspective TRULY annoying. Anyone else?

Well, you know. I could send you some Supernatural, just to wet your beak a little...if you're interested.

Heh, heh.

(I feel like such a dirty pusher! ;))

Seriously, you should start from the beginning if you want to watch it. I'd be happy to send you some.

The fierst one's free!

Actually I am in the midst of downloading them now. As I am on vacation this week it shall be a fun thing to mainline the first season.

Apparently, I never feel too old. I love bandom, and if any of these guys start catching your fancy, let me know.

(Gerard is only seven years younger than me! No guilt!)

Of course you realize they are ALL way too young for me. Hell, Lance is 11 years younger and I actually feel skeevy sometimes with that.

DUDE.

Lincoln, Supernatural, NOW.

Don't even hesitate. Take Glenda up on her offer. RUN, DO NOT WALK.

It is seriously the best TV around. I just bought the Heroes Sn1 DVD a few weeks ago and go caught up, and it's good, but Supernatural? Is phenomenal. In SO many ways. I couldn't possibly recommend it strongly enough.

And does NY being an in-out daytrip mean you're not going to be able to afford Camp Sparkle 2 come the end of February? 'Cause we'd all love to see you make it!!

Hi! Yes I realize it's been two weeks, but I just realized that I never answered any comments to this post.

I read LJ but I find myself not posting, this may be due to the fact that my life is mondoextremeboring. As the commenting that I do not do it's usually because I can't think of anything to say.

That and all my fandoms are completed fandoms for the most part. Apart from SGA the series have ended for the others, or the group is no longer together.

Ah, ennui how you plague my life.

Too bad about your trip, hopefully you can make it in November instead!

I am tempted to get into the Bandslash fandom now. Yes, stictly due to THAT.

I've been dipping my toes into it recently, mostly because of [livejournal.com profile] nafs Nick Carter/Patrick Stump crossover fic, but the recent spate of wankiness has seriously pushed me much closer to becoming really interested in it! (I bet she didn't expect that outcome of her weird grudge!) And I do like some of the music, not all of the guys trigger my "please wash and get a haircut NOW" reflex (Patrick Stump is adorable!), and there are some very good stories to be found so it's very probable that I will become at least a bit more interested than I've been. (Not that difficult since my interested before was close to zero :-)

I love that story! I still have no real desire to get into that fandom though.

November shall probably be a no if I want to do Camp Sparkle in the Spring.

You really should love Bandom. It is kind of really awesome.

Also, omg I hate first person pic!

*looks around*

I shamefully admit to occasionally reading first-person fic aloud for the amusement.

Oh man, has anyone ever written (good) Julian/Rupert RPS? I used to be completely obsessed with that movie, and those two were completely adorable back then. But I've never even considered reading fic about the movie or the cast!

Sadly I have never actually FOUND any stories with that pairing but it does not keep me from looking and hoping!
