Finished.

I liked it, a lot. Much better than the previous book.

Yes, the epilogue mildly annoyed me but "Whatever" - it's her world and I realized where she was going with that and accepted it last book. I do agree she could have left it out completely.

Regarding the death(s) and the stupidity and senselesness of them that everyone is bewailing: it's a war, people die in stupid and senseless ways. It actually made me accept the way things happened better.

The BIG death that has everyone all kerfuffled? Someone came to an erroneous conclusion and followed through on it, it certainly came back to kick him in the ass, didn't it?

How has this messed with my canon? Not at all. I live for the AU so I am not worried. I do hope that certain stories will not be abandoned because of this. Like happened last time.

totally agreed. it broke my heart to see so much death but at the same time you know it *had* to happen because that *is* war. i loved it.

and hey. if jk wants to write fanfiction, i say more power to her.

The big to=do surrounding Snape and his outcome. I was amused to read so many "it's NOT true!!!!!" posts elsewhere.

right... right... idk why i wasn't affected by it all but... i wasn't. i just don't see an ending in which that didn't happen to him. i don't see him ever otherwise letting harry so deeply into his thoughts - though it certainly brings a new dimension to his anger at harry for the pensieve fiasco in ootp - but without it, harry would never have known the truth.

i wasn't "glad" about it, but i felt like it was the only way to put really sensible thing to do with him... you know? i also didn't actually *love* how many people died, but merely that she had the guts to treat war in the manner in which she treated it.

Just finished...did the obligatory crying...I agree with the epilogue being kept out...it was cute in a MarySue FanFic World kind of way but whatever :) Her book...her money...i liked knowing it all lives on and everyone is happy :)

And you are so right...it's war folks...people are gonna die....but yes, sad :(
