I'm watching the Jerome Pradon (as Judas) version of Jesus Christ Superstar on DVD and I just realized something.

The apostles in this thing are basically a gay gang. Seriously, they are the original Pink Mafia. Pastel shirts, fatigues, boots and lots of boytouching.

It just puts a whole new spin on this show now. Wow.

AND it has Paul Keating of Metrosexuality and my icon - he's the shaved one on the right (Dean) - the other is Davey Fairbanks as Bambi, my OTP for that show. He's ohsocute!!

I have that on VHS and I love it to bits (so slashy!), though I would appreciate is more if Jerome Pradon did not look EXACTLY like my youngest uncle (right down to the receeding hairline), who I abhor with every iota of my being and did not feel like throwing things at the sceen every time he comes on and didn't get smacked with the irony every time.

(Also, I have a DVD from a show in China (it's one of theow ALW appreciation things) where the guy who plays Simon sings the Judas songs and I'd give anything to see him do the whole thing, since it promises to be 100x times more slashy. :) )

Oh my, Simon singing Judas' songs? I think I need to see that. Which DVD is that from?

And I guess the hating of the Judas could be considered a good thing. Maybe?
