I am sitting here listening to the NEW Me First and the Gimmee Gimmees. The new one!! Take A Break. Ain't No Sunshine, I Believe I Can Fly, Mona Lisa, NOthing Compares 2 U, Natural Woman.

Hee. I am thoroughly enjoying this. Too much fun.

I am also reading a new book that finally came back in to the store. Trysts: A Triskaidecollection of Queer and Weird Stories by Steve Berman. Nice. Dark, Quirky. A couple of first paragraphs back here )

Dark full of the supernatural and gothicity. I should so be listening to Patrick O'Hearn's music while reading this except I think I'd freak myself out.

And, during slow times at work I perused The New Joy of Gay Sex: Updated with illustrations by Joe Phillips. Eh. The articles were nicely done, informative and entertaining. The pictures just didn't seem to be up to Mr. Phillip's normal standards. Pure porn, yes, but B/W sketches, not the clean artwork I'm used to. I really liked the artwork from the second edition.

Yes, we read porn at work. We find the stuff scattered throughout the store, usually in Kids or religion, and we check em out. Taschen puts out some damn fine stuff. Damn weird stuff, also.

Hmmm. Shall have a film festival tomorrow for Ms. Hepburn's passing. Lion In Winter, Philadelphia Story, African Queen and if I can work up the courage A Long Day's Journey Into Night (that on always takes it out of me).

So, it's that time of the month again. No not that time. Not a girl here, I'm just naturally bitchy. it's the time when I bring home more free promos from work and regale you with the bizzarness that is my musical taste.

So without further ado, here are this months swaggity stuff: Pure Country Classics: The #1 Hits, Vivian Green, two Sondheim compilations, Plumb, the new Pretenders, Opera Babes, Baz Luhrmann's La Boheme, Stacie Orrico, Robbie Williams, Ian Bostridge's Noel Coward disc, two more Ella discs, The Essential Kenny Loggins, Rosemary Clooney's Last Concert, Josh Groban's live disc with DVD, the Buffy musical episode soudtrack, and four Celtic music compilations.

I've also discovered filk music. That's folk music for times and places that haven't happened. Most of the ones on the disc I have been given are from Mercedes Lackey's Heralds of Valdemar books. Her singing, her friends singing. Not bad at all. I want more. I know there's a CD out there somewhere called Carmen Miranda's Ghost is Haunting Space Station Three, I will find it and buy it. These are fun songs. Glory, Glory Psychotherapy and Freaking the Mundanes and The Oklahoma Weed Whacker Massacre.

hee.
