Does anybody else remember that song?

1 - the whoel Michael JAckson thing has me seriously squicked, it's not even remotely funny.

2 - I now have a trip planned every month through September. Woah.

3 - Met a customer/girl at work today who is hugely into the manga world of comics. She wants to be an artist. She has an LJ. She was very smart and funny. And YOUNG. It was rather bizarre to have an intelligent conversation about manga art/stories on the salesfloor with a girl who knew what fanfic, Doujinshi, and a Mary Sue was. I now need to find the HP story that had the whole new House made up entirely of Mary Sues. She about died when I mentioned that.

4 - I am mad jelus of everyone who got to see BSB in concert. Still not happy with my GM over her little scheduling stunt.

5 - Speaking of work I almost threw something at my AM today. He is being SUCH a BITCH. Grrr. And the GM is out of the store for a week. joy.

6 - I have, sadly, read maybe four pieces of fanfic in the past couple of weeks. I justcan;t concentrate right now on any sort of reading without picture. IE Comic books.

7 - The series of "Walking With Dinosaurs" and Prehistoric beasts? FANTASTIC!! I have the Dragon one they did, but haven't watched it yet.

8 - This LOTR con in Florida that's in late August? Who is going and should I go as well? It is relatively cheap and I haven't been to a con in ages. Elijah shoulfbe there, is Dom?

9 - JC's album needs to come out. So does a blues-rock album by AJ. Oh yessss.

10 - Whyfor is Kristen Chenoweth's new CD all Christian Contemporary? I haven;t listened to it yet but it is seriously all religios music. Huh. I will be buying it, don;t get me wrong, I actually liek some religious music. I just find it interesting.

11 - Lea Delaria's new Jazz CD is out. I love it.

12 - I am running out of things to say, I am sure I am missing something. Ah yes, the roommate is sick. Wish me luck in avoiding it.

13 - Phantom hits DVD in one month! WHOO!!! Still haven;t seen it, though. I don't think it ever reached here.

14 - This icon needs to say 'serenity' and have that crappy logo stuff taken out. Must work up the energy to try this.

15 - I just wanted 15 things on this list.

Concerning item 8 (the Lotr con in FL): You should come! I live down here in Orlando now, and several people are at least talking about coming. I'm not sure how many friends we have in common, but I know that [livejournal.com profile] eleanor_lavish and [livejournal.com profile] o4fuxache are coming and staying with me for sure, at least. Coooooome! It'll be fun!

ooOOoo!

Can I grab a corner of your carpet? Or is there a special hotel people are staying at?

And are you doing Challenge this year?

Date: 2005-04-10 01:45 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] likealocket.livejournal.com
You very possibly can, actually. I have a roomate, or else I'd let everyone who asked me stay, but I need to keep it reasonable or she'll have my head. I have half of a double bed, a fold out sofa bed, and various floor spaces available, but again, need to be reasonable for the roomate's sake. So I'd say I can fit three for sure, and possibly up to five. So far I have [livejournal.com profile] eleanor_lavish and [livejournal.com profile] o4fuxache here for sure, with possibly [livejournal.com profile] nsyncstalkme, [livejournal.com profile] canadiankracka if she can get a reasonable airfare, and also two others whom I don't know as well/at all have asked. Those two will come after people that I know, obviously, if I still have some space.

But I might just say EL, Pammie, you and Chrys (if she wants), and then a space reserved for Lex if she can make it (and if it becomes aparent that thre is no hope for that, I'll see from there). Sound good?

Several other good friends declined my offer in favor of a hotel, I'm assuming the one the con is at, but I'm not sure. There are a billion hotels around here, if worse comes to worse. lol.

I'm not sure if I've met Chrys. Heh, if it wasn't at Challenge last year or JC's show in Boston then I haven't.

That would be very cool if it works out that way.

Yay!

*taps foot impatiently* Yoyu must come! We will have so much fucking fun you won't be able to STAND it!

Also, I need a big strong man to catch me when I faint at the sight of Billy. It's been too long, I'm not sure my heart can take it.

We need to chat about may/June. the weekend of 6/10 looks pretty free right now, so yay!

Did it again. *smacks self* As far as Challenge goes... I'm not sure at the moment. Amongst other reasons, my CFTC "boss" tells me that Chicago is a union city, so we might not be ABLE to work merch, even if they want us to. I'm looking into it.

Oops, got ahead of myself there and hit "post" before I was done. So far Elijah and Billy are scheduled. No Dom as of yet, but hopefully that will change *crosses fingers*.

What is it about scraggly long-haired guys?

aren;t they just gorgeous? I think it's a throwback to my childhood. The best guys all had long hair in the 70s.

When I look at that icon, I can't help but think, "Damn, if I had been able to go another 12 months without cutting my hair, maybe I could have looked like that."

Yeah, right. *g*

Things that make you go hmmmm... good catchphrase, better song.... C&C music factory.

As for the not seeing BSB--I wish I could have seen DD this tour. Dont worry--they'll be back.

Yes JC's album needs to come out... and Chris' too.

C&C! Of course! Another CD I shall have to order in at work. Thanks!

I'd forgotten about Chris'. His has me the most intrigued.

It has me intrigued too. From the sounds of it, it will be coming out soon. Definitely worth the wait though!

I seriously read that as 'JC needs to come out.' My brain, dude. Fun times.

I believe it's the cd she wanted to make the first time. I think she butted heads with Sony a lot over the last one.

But, it's not! The last track is 'Taylor the Latte Boy'. :-)

oh good, the first CD was...ok. I didn;t particularly care for the choice of songs on that one.

And YES to Taylor!! Yesyesyes! Much better than Susan Egan's, whom I love dearly, but still.

I liked 'girl in 14G', though. It was like an ode to her multiple personalities. :-)

and Christiane Noll. Whom I also love (and I fucking *adore* Live at The Westbank Cafe') but her 'Taylor' was too quick.

LIVE at the Westbank?

LIVE?!?

I'd forgotten about 14G. Huh.

You know, there might possibly be one other person on my LJ who has any idea who we are taking about. Maybe.

And did David Campbell EVER release his CD?

You don't own this? ???? (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00003W885/qid=1113106151/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/103-0243201-3291014?v=glance&s=music&n=507846)

Seriously? Man, I thought if anyone I knew owned it, it would be you.

And, as for David Campbell, I don't know that he ever did.

This is the last I heard of it.

I've thought WAAAAY to much about this.

Nick - another rock CD
AJ - blues-rock
Brian - gospel/christian contemp.
Kevin - folk ballads - the classics, with a mix of piano instrumentals
Howie - his is hard, he is such a cypher, but I say go world/electronica

JC - I like his eclecticism, stick with it
Joey - Broadway all the way! And crooner. And rock!
Chris - punk-pop
Lance - spirituals or kids songs (think Kenny Loggins)
Justin - I guess he should stick with the R&B/pop sound, but he should really stretch

And the icon is Shemekia Coplenad - she is my default music icon. A blues goddess near the level of Etta James and Ruth Brown. A tiny powerhouse.
