becaue Jessa asked...
Feb. 22nd, 2005 06:02 pmIt's been awhile since I talked about this, but
escapist_xbq is curious about the idea.
When I went ot see JC in Boston, the question came up about which song we would most like to see him cover. The obligatory Dusty Springfield songs came up and then I mentioned I would dearly love to hear him sing "Sweet Transvestite" from The Rocky Horror Picture Show and
msktrnanny just about fell of her chair with sheer amusement-slash-joy.
This stuck in my mind for ages and I came up with the idea to completely recast it for an eventual stage production/benefit (ala "Anyone Can Whistle" and "Sweeney Todd" - minimal costumes and staging but full-on performance) if I should ever strike it big in the lottery. And I always had plans to do The Little Shop of Horrors as a sort of sequel using the others.
So without further ado, I give you:
The Rocky Horror Sparkly Show
JC Chasez - Dr. Frank N. Furter
Nick Carter - Brad Majors
Jessica Simpson - Janet Weiss
Kevin Richardson - The Narrator
AJ McLean - Riff Raff
Christina Aguilera - Columbia
Pink - Magenta
Jeff Timmons - Rocky
Joey Fatone - Eddie
Chris Kirkpatrick - Dr. Scott
and
The Little Shop of Pop Horrors
Howie Dorough - Seymour Krelbourn
Britney Spears - Audrey
Brian Litrell - Mr. Mushnik
Lance Bass - the voice of Audrey II
Justin Timberlake - Orin
Destiny's Child - The Urchins
But really, it's that Rocky Horror one all the way.

Date: 2005-02-22 11:39 pm (UTC)I mean, JC's a great choice for frankenfurter, but Janet? Muewh? And columbia is almost the same. Perhaps you should switch christina and Jessica.
But either way, great idea.

Date: 2005-02-23 12:35 am (UTC)You could make Nick Lachey Brad, and it'd work just as well. *g* Because Nick Carter as Rocky, BWAHAHAHHA!

...
Random--Columbia is my fave. And if I was ever a skinny little twig, I'd find somewhere casting for the role and try out. Xtina would be interesting. ;) <3 it.
& JC as the Doc is great. Kudos.

Date: 2005-02-23 01:41 am (UTC)Except that I would also cast him as Brad if Nick couldn't do it

Date: 2005-02-23 04:24 am (UTC)A) Fabulous because of the Britney thing.
B) I forgot about the millions of different characters at the end... like the plant sales guy? Totally cheesy. Cheesy = Justin. So good call on that one.
C)Your casts of both are amazingly awesome. I never would have thought of half of the perfection that you did.
:bows to you:
