I just watched the first season episode of CSI, 1x20 "Justice Is Served" and I am in awe. The actress playing the jogger's killer. Woah. I love her. Porphyria. Her last line. Awe.

Almost done with the entire season, then I watch the extras.

I think I need a CSI icon.

Where can I get the fifth season stuff without using torrents? I have no luck with those.

I am having a weird allergic reaction. It has lasted for 24 hours so far.

Swelling but no itchiness or redness. And it's moving. You can almost watch it.

It's happened before so I'm not worried, just bemused.

And I just picked all my fingernails down to the quick because of it, dammit. Other than that the vacation is a rounding success with one day to go. I have accomplished NOTHING. Unfortunately that includes laundry and cleaning the room. So I shall be busy tomorrow. Pooh. CSI rocks. Oh yes.

And you?

welll, it's relatively new. Em/JC and Em/Lance.

Heh. And Em/Draco just for fun.

I have the feeling that we are going to be hit with the blizzard they are warning us about on Sunday. I go back to work on Sunday. Walking.

Feh.

Oh yeah, great episode. And you mean Alicia Coppola, if I'm not mistaken. She does, indeed, kick ass. Very creepycrazyamazing.

As for the fifth season, I can yousendit the eps to you one by one, if you're allergic to torrents. Just say the word. :)

p.s. The "extras" on the season one (hell, *all* the seasons) dvds? Yeah, S-A-D. Don't get too excited. :/

Pssst. "Justice is Served" is episode 1.21, sir. Way to throw me off for a second there. [g]

I only own Season 4 at the moment (which will change the minute I get my tax refund), but the commentaries are actually pretty interesting.

But, I'm a big geek and for me, the best thing *ever* to happen to film and television was the addition of the commentary.

Lincoln, if there's a character you want an icon of, lmk. I can only cap what's been on in season 4, so if you want something from a different season, I might have to go hunting for pics.

nope she has a disease CALLED porpyria - genetic vampirism basically is what it seems. She was called Dr. Hillard or something.

Hee Porphyria, if it were a name it would be from a Regency romance, I assure you.

Porphyria is not a single disease but a group of at least eight disorders that differ considerably from each other. A common feature in all porphyrias is the accumulation in the body of "porphyrins" or "porphyrin precursors." Although these are normal body chemicals, they normally do not accumulate. Precisely which of these chemicals builds up depends upon the type of porphyria.

The clinical manifestations of the different types of porphyria are not the same. Forms of treatment also depend on the type of porphyria. Therefore, it is difficult to make general statements that apply to all these disorders.

The symptoms arise mostly from effects on the nervous system or the skin. Effects on the nervous system occur in the acute porphyrias. Proper diagnosis is often delayed because the symptoms are nonspecific. Skin manifestations can include burning, blistering, and scarring of sun-exposed areas.

The terms "porphyrin" and "porphyria" are derived from the Greek word "porphyrus" meaning purple. Urine from some porphyria patients may be reddish in color due to the presence of excess porphyrins and related substances in the urine, and the urine may darken after exposure to light.
