fucking computer
Dec. 28th, 2004 09:40 amI'm baaaack!
Que scary music.
Or not.
So. On the day before SeSa went live I got a check inthe mail from my settlement, two monthsearly and for quite a bit more than I was expecting. I called my parents to chat and got on the computer to surf around a bit. I was checking LJ and my computer made a loud POP and hten a soft PING. I thought something popped off the back ofthe computer flew into the air and landed onthe desk. I couldn't find anything. Ten minutes later my computer dies and never started again.
Luckily I had backed everything up on Sunday.
So I have been without a computer for a week, going through withdrawls, being swamped at work (number one store in comp increase in the district, and we believe the region!). I finally managed to get down to Best Buy an hour away and buy a new computer. It is lovely. LCD screen! Sitloads of memopry, I can play Sims2 and City of Heroes!! I squee over my new computer. It's a little loud, but I can live with that.
I also may have spent way too much money on DVDS. But I can now watch the entire series of Buffy and all the old Universal horror movies! I have also gottne myself out of debt and set aside money for Challenge. Did not do anything with my eyes yet, BUT I am considering moving this spring.
Pondering, pondering.
I shall be going back to se what I missed, loading games and programs back onto this thing and building the CD racks I got for Christmas that ALL of my CDs will fit on.
There shall probably be a few more posts today as I must thank people for cards and gifts and just paly catch up. I predict at least skip=1500.
This computer is soooo fast. I love it.
I hope everyone had fantabulous holidays!!

Date: 2004-12-28 04:22 pm (UTC)DVD's are wonderful, aren't they? I love being able to watch an entire season of Buffy at one sitting -- OK, one *long* sitting, but still ...
I thought of you while I was at my brother's for the holidays, because one of my nephews insisted on watching muppet movies the entire time I was there. I saw The Muppet Movie, The Muppets Take Manhattan, and Muppet Treasure Island. Underappreciated classics, all of them.

There is no such thing as spending too much money on DVDs.
Just sayin'.

Date: 2004-12-28 06:26 pm (UTC)Believe you me, I may have done it. It equaled an entire months take home pay.
It will keep me busy for weeks, I am sure. Then I will be back to "I have NOTHING to watch".
Heh.

But, of course, by then many more new and exciting things will have come out on dvd and all will be right with the world. :-)

Date: 2004-12-29 04:55 pm (UTC)I'm so glad you're willing to use the make-shift calendar. :o)
I hope I lined all the days and dates up right ::worries::
Big or small, debts are horrible to have hanging over one's head. I'm glad you got out from under yours.
I've found out the same thing about my relationship with credit.
It's like quicksand - and I'm sinking fast. :o)
