my birthday recap

So how was it?? I shall tell you whether you wish to know or not.
I woke up. Late. Luckily the roommate was opening as well today so I went in with her. Yes Iwas scheduled to work. I have to I'm the only one who knows how to do payroll. Which is OK. Itt gives me five hours of Office time.
Wrong.
I had two hours Office time. The GM decided to kill tow shifts on Monday as it is not one of our busier days. So we opened with two people and two Supervisors. From 9 to 2. WTF?! I had two hours to do all the cash crap AND payroll, which usually takes me four. Any mistakes are not my responsibility is all I have to say about that.
None of us were at all happy with the situation and we made our displeasure known when the closing Manager came in. And again in an e-mail to the GM. I had to take my lunch at 10!! Which is inconvenient and not quite legal as it's only two hours into my shift.
Then thee Lunch truck lady gave me free ice cream for my gift when I went to get lunch. THe opening cre got me an ice-cream cake which we wiped out half of before anyone else could get to it.
Came home and opened the mail and discovered that a Class Action suit I'm involved in has reached the setlement state andthat I could be getting between 4 and 5 grand come January. Whoo hoo!! Then I got a call from Gateway, they are financing a new computer if I want one. Decisions decisions. Haven't called them back yet to get the particulars.
I started reading the galley I have of Susanna Clarke's Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell whichj is being described as Harry Potter for grown-ups. Neil Gaiman liked it alot. Almost 800 pages, I'm only 50 in and it's realy interesting.
Played on the computer, went out with people from work. Discovered Bette Midler has a song about penis-size on Bathhouse Betty, well actually about a man's perception and the woman's reality. Too funny. It's called Big Socks.
Came home and read through FL, went to bed relatively early and caught up this morning. Day off today, will be spedig time printing stuff up that I've benn meaning to in preparation for a friends upcoming D&D capaign.
I have also come up with the name of my website, if I ever actually get one: Cosmic Fabulosity.
And I'm watching the LOTR Trilogy. Again.
