juts a quick note from my corner...
Feb. 26th, 2004 01:16 amJC has been acquired. And listened to. Many times. I played it before the store opened and the staff liked it, even the punk kid.
There is a copy winging it's way to Ofra as I type. Enjoy!
Megan, there's something coming your way, as well.
I also purchased a Cd by a new artist. Nellie McKay. Love her, they described her as Doris Day meets Eminem. It's twisted, but true, she swings between songs that sound like old standards, but aren't, to rap stuff with a twist. It's like rap/cabaret. Raparet. I enjoy it immensly.
Also on the music front, I discovered another Anna Russell CD. This makes three. Too funny. This one includes A Survey of Singing From Madrigals to Modern Opera. She is a sick, sick woman. I laughed aloud many times. Anybody interested in Classical vocals and opera would find her quite funny. Hunt up her Analysis of Nibelung's Ring Cycle for an informative, yet downright hilarious, encapsulation of the entire thing. In twenty minutes.
On the video front, I spent yesterday watching the last thirteen episodes of the Buffy series. nice. And I purchased a DVD box set ofthe Muppet Show from TimeLife.com for 50% off. 45 episodes! Carol Burnett! Elton John! Mumenschanz (or however it's spelled)! George Burns! Bob Hope! Thank god I have the next few days off to watch these.
Also bought other things, books, comics and such. Tax check is all gone.
Off to bed I go now.

Date: 2004-02-26 11:31 am (UTC)I can't wait to watch these shows again, because I suspect that the humor is much more adult than I realized when I saw them as a kid.
And since this *is* Disney we're talking about, they'll probably eventually release all the episodes but claim that it's for a limited time only, never again to be repeated, so they can charge much more than regular market price. *grumbles*
