things and a realization
Feb. 1st, 2004 08:07 pmThing one: I have discovered a new male balladeer. Casey Stratton. He has a falsetto that is pure and creamy. I swear he's the bastard love child of Duncan Sheik and Jason Mraz. With shades of Tracy Chapman. I have listened to his discthree times today. Wonderful
Thing two: for a staff that works in a book store, they sure don't know how to alpahabetise. I almost hurt three of our people today for being stupid. What were tey thinking? Can't they read? Arrgghh!! I retrained them on shelving and merching the Multimedia sections. Still want to hurt them.
Thing three: taxes done and sent. Whoo hoo!!
Realization: I am a fandom leech. It came to me today as I was woring in the DVD Performance section (damn, we have a lot of Pik Floyd DVDs) that I don't really contribute anything to the fandom as awhole. I don't write (the things I've tried have sucked hard core, still plugging away, have little faith), I don't subscribeto cable TV or to any magazines and don't actually listen to the radio, so I don't get news to share, I have no Photoshopping/Paint Shop skills (although I'm working on those) to make wallpapers and icons, and I don't actually give any sort of constructive feedback (*guh* good, more, is not constructive).
So, I have decided I need to do something for the fandom, shall think on this and see what I can come up with.
Random thing: Wallpaper Changer is a wonderful thing, it cycles through my wallpapers. Every hour I get a new one. JC, Howie, Lance, Hal Sparks, Dom, Seth Green. All pretty. Still need a good Orlando one. And Elijah. And Xander. Rupert Graces, too.
Hell, maybe I'll work on the Photoshopping and make more wallpapers.

I think that explaining to me all about this "Wallpaper Changer" that you speak of would be a great way to start.

Date: 2004-02-01 06:09 pm (UTC)Well, I'm a writer, so that's what =I= do for contribution, but you don't...
*BUT*! As a writer, I can tell you we're ALL feedback whores. Seriously. Even the quiet ones who insist they're not. They're liars. They may not NEEEEED it the way some of us do, but they like it, they want it... ..especially the "Guh. Good. More Please!" variety. Constructive feedback is of course wonderful, but ANY feedback that isn't a flame or an attack is much appreciated, trust me.
Aaand.. ..pretty sparkly boy images are also always of the good, so you go right ahead with the wallpapery stuff, too! *wink*
