One of my old friends from Chicago, Dan, just e-mailed me with a trade request. He's sending me a compilation of classic Noel Coward songs so I have to send him a CD of "queer music history" as he put it. His only stipulation being the performers must be male and be openly gay. So I thought about it and here's the performers I have to narrow down from.

Cam Clarke, John Boswell, Sam Harris, Neil Tennant (Pet Shop Boys), Rufus Wainwright, Elton John, Brian Lane Green, Paul Lekakis, RuPaul, Matt Zarley, Lee Lessack, Doug Stone, Romanovsky & Phillips, Noel Coward, Tom Robinson, Stephen Gately, Tim Draxl, Michael Feinstein, Johnny Mathis, Oryon, Mark Islam, Morel, Pansy Division, Brent Barret, John Barrowman, Jamie Anderson, Malcolm Gets, Bill Hutton, Andy Bell (Erasure), the two guys from the B-52's, Jimmy Sommerville, the guy from Dead or Alive, Morrisey, John Bucchino, whatsisname from Queen, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Full Frontal, Alan Cumming, Dame Edna, Cole Porter, Monty Wooley, Marc Almond, that guy from Alcazar, Nathan Lane and that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Ooh, Sylvester and Gareth Gates/Will Young which ever is the gay one.

Crap this may actually be a two CD set. Hell, I may just throw in the dyke mix too. Although I'll have to borrow from one of the girls at work.

Dame Edna isn't gay -- I mean, Barry Humphries isn't. Humphries also plays a straight male character (Les something?), and is, I believe, enthusiastically hetero (along the lines of Bob Hope).
