Damn but walking to work in -10 degrees is not fun. I so need to break down and buy a scarf next week. This is my third winter up here and I've managed to make it this far without uying a scarf, boots or longjohns. My streak is over.

Drama at work, Gm out for a couple of months so people are shifting all over into interim positions, maybe I will apply after all. it seems the person we all thoght would get the job has been offeredthe same position at another store. He's accepted it. I stil think Imay wait and see what happens, I do have a week to decide. More money. Hmmmmm.

One of the girls in the cafe said things to one of the guys, whatever it was it made him decide to quit. He talked for about an hour with the Manager, she didn't look too happy when it was over. I still say that they need to get a supervisor in there who will BE in there and not elsewhere. The crew hasn't had anyone overseeing them for almost 4 months now. Promote someone already!! The drama will come to an end once they have someone in charge.

Lets see, I've been woefully bad with FB the last week or so. Thee have been about 5 updates on various series I am following that I haven't said anything about to the authors. So must get on that. Tomorrow as that is when my vacation starts. If you happen to be one of them, I swear (boyscout swear even, I used to be one) I will get it out to you.

At 6:30 in the morning I was the ONLY one out there on a Saturday. Everyone else were being intelligent and staying inside in the warmness oftheir homes.

Not me, I'm out there for two miles freeezing my nose and lips off. At least there was no wind chill to add to it.

So, Move to Dixie.

Of course, you'll need to change your first name. Lee, perhaps. Or Jackson, or Stuart.

But hey, you'll be warm. Plus, there's pecan pie.

I've never had pecan pie. And, belive me, I actually have thought about moving to the south. Either Florida or Georgia, as they are the only two statesI know anything about and know people there.

And change my name? I've used Kent before (on stage and for art) but don't know if that works well with my last name. Would have to change that, too.

Really, what kind of reaction would I get?

ha!

*blushes*

why thank you, kind sir.

If I move again that would make a total of 22 times in 34 years, 35 if it's after the summer. I think. Not including 3 months of living in the car.

I was raised a military brat (Navy), but I think I've pretty much reached an age where it's time to set down in one place and put down roots. Just have to figure out where that is. The good thing about working retail, with Borders, is I can pretty much transfer locations anywhere (except Montana, we don't seem to have a store there) in the US. I was asked if I wanted to go to Oregon but exchanging snow for rain? I think that's a losing proposition, in my opinion. Someplace warm, without snow preferably, is where I'll end up. Although visiting snow is nice, especially leaving it behind and not having to shovel it.

Blues For Dixie.

You can have both. Maryland, Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, the upstate of the Carolinas and Georgia, even north Mississippi and north Alabama, get the odd bit of snow. And everyone ooohs and ahhhhs because of the rarity factor. A week later, you can play golf again in the more Southerly of the named states, and even in Maryland and the Dominion, it's merely cold, not insanely Arctic.

Except for miniature I've never played golf.

Somehow I feel deprived, everyone's been talking about golf lately.
